Wedding bells are ringing for Stephen Colletti. He may not be heading for the aisle with Lauren Conrad or Kristin Cavilleri (much to any true The Hills fans dismay) — but his beautiful fiance Alex Weaver is just as good.
On Wednesday, the One Tree Hill alum, 37, and his girlfriend announced their engagement with a sweet Instagram post. “Yes! Forever,” the couple captioned their joint update, which also revealed Colletti popped the question in Rome, Italy, at the Cypress and Orange Tree Garden above the Tiber River. Talk about idyllic.
Here’s everything we know about the oval-shaped diamond that sealed the deal.
What Does The Engagement Ring Look Like?
Steven proposed with a huge 6 carat oval solitaire diamond.
The diamond is secured in a four-prong setting on a sleek yellow-gold band. Oval-cut diamonds boast an intense level of sparkle and have an elongated silhouette that is especially flattering, giving the appearance of longer and slimmer fingers. They also appear larger than their actual carat size due to their ample surface area (not that Alex needs her stone to look any bigger than it actually is — this sparkler is a doozy).
The couple were flooded with congratulatory messages after announcing their happy news. Among those who commented were Colletti’s former costars.
James Lafferty, who played Nathan Scott on the WB/CW teen drama and created and costars with Colletti on Everybody Is Doing Great, wrote, “Yesssss congratulations!!!!”Meanwhile, Kate Voegele, who played Colletii’s on-screen love interest, Mia Catalano, added, “Ahhhhh congratulations you guys!!! Soooo happy for you!!” Additionally, Laguna Beach star Jason Wahler added, “Congrats man!”
