Calling on London couples: there’s a website you simply HAVE to check out if you’re on the hunt for the perfect engagement ring.
It’s called The Cut London, and if you’re looking for a bespoke or truly unique engagement ring, it’s all you need. Jewellery designer Kate Baxter set up the site ‘after seeing her friends struggle to find engagement rings that offered something different to the standard solitaire’. They all had broadly similar requirements; an engagement ring that was individual, ethically and expertly made, and just a little luxurious.
Kate introduces clients who visit her site to her circle of contacts and friends – who just so happen to be some of the most exciting jewellery designers in London, as well as trade insiders and all round engagement ring gurus. Focusing on design led, non-conventional engagement rings, she takes enquires via WhatsApp, email or phone, and creates a customised shortlist of designers and rings for each client. She does it all within 24 hours, and she does it all free of charge.
Why? Because she wants to help people find bespoke, beautiful and unique engagement rings. No other reason!
So how does it work? Simply browse the site and click ‘find out more’ on any rings that you like the look of. Alternatively, get in touch with with details about your style, budget, and colours/gemstones you like, and you’ll receive your shortlist within 24 hours. Kate also offers personal shopping trips diamond sourcing, engagement ring evaluation and personal consultations.
The Cut London has a collection of individual rings for visitors to drool over, plus a very intriguing journal and a thorough inspiration section. The latter is curated around style themes; geometric, coloured gemstones, minimalist, modern classic, organic, simple, affordable, and vintage. It pretty much covers all kinds of brides and styles, don’t you think? A directory is also planned in the near future.
The Cut London originally began as a blog by Kate back in 2012, but she soon realised she could use her platform for something much more special and even more personal. “Customers want to cut through the millions of results online when they start their search for the perfect ring, and The Cut London offers an easy to use edit of the best designers out there,” she told Professional Jeweller. “They’re looking for a trustworthy, talented designer who uses conflict free stones and can produce a unique design, but often don’t know where to start.” And that’s where Kate comes in.
The site is seriously worth checking out – even if you’re not in London. The Journal section included some very insightful posts on topics like buying vintage rings, interviews with designers, and plenty of other helpful advice. Highly recommended.
