Indy’s ring is a Toi Et Moi engagement ring with a long cushion cut and blue green pear shaped diamond. A “Toi et Moi” engagement ring is a style of ring that features two gemstones, typically diamonds, set side by side. Traditionally, the gemstones in a Toi et Moi ring represent the two individuals in a couple, each stone symbolizing one person.

Who Did Toi Et Moi First?

There has been a lot of debate around who did it first when it comes to the Toi Et Moi ring in the celebrity space. Believe it or not, the ring style dates back to the 1700’s when Napoleon Bonaparte gave a Toi et Moi engagement ring to his future wife, Joséphine de Beauharnais.. The style was coined Toi Et Moi which is French for “You and Me”. 

Since then, rings like this have been rich in history and are associated with sentimental and romantic connotations. They’ve notably been sported by Jackie Kennedy and the Queen of Denmark. 

In 2021, Emily Ratikowski gave the style fresh wings with her pear and princess cut ring, followed shortly after by Ariana Grande and Megan Fox. While Megan Fox’s beautiful emerald Toi Et Moi ring is undeniably similar to Indy’s, I don’t think anyone seriously believed she ripped the design off. After all, there’s only so many ways to design an engagement ring.
Both rings are absolutely stunning and so well suited to the individual wearers, Indy herself has come out to squash any idea of any beef. She’s a big MGK and Megan fan and loves the idea of sporting a ring similar to the icon herself. We stan a humble queen.
