Titled the “Previous Engagements” necklace, it’s a custom piece featuring a total of 42 diamonds and weighing 351.38 carats. Each diamond on the necklace represents a past romantic connection: each a potential engagement ring for women the rapper has been with but couldn’t bring himself to fully commit.

What Does Drake’s Engagement Necklace Look Like?

The design of the necklace includes 42 individual diamonds, each set in an arrangement that resembles an engagement ring. Set in 18k white gold, the stones total a whopping 351.38 carats worth of diamonds. Yes, 351 carats.

It was handmade over a period of 14 months using the eagle claw technique — a prong setting that gets its name due its sharpness being likened to the talons of an eagle’s claw.

The necklace features multiple diamond shapes – including round, emerald, princess and pear. A particularly eye-catching pear cut diamond is central to the intricate piece.

A pear cut diamond, also known as a teardrop diamond, is a unique and elegant diamond shape that combines elements of both the round brilliant and marquise cuts. It’s characterized by a rounded end on one side and a pointed end on the other, resembling a teardrop.

The diamonds are meticulously placed to create a stunning visual effect, making the necklace a true work of art. 

Who Designed Drake’s Necklace?

The piece was crafted by jeweler Alex Moss of Alex Moss New York (AMNY), a prominent jewelry brand renowned for its distinctive designs that break away from traditional jewelry norms.
